Individual lessons
Individual lessons are arranged between the family and teacher and taken on a weekly basis. Lessons will be taught at the student's pace of learning with plenty of positive reinforcement, encouragement, and fun! Individual lessons can be taken in 30, 45, and 60 minute sessions in violin, viola, and fiddle.
Group Class
Weekly group classes are held on Thursdayy afternoons and are organized by playing level, though some will be held as a Play-In. In this format, all the students will play together as a large group. Group class reinforces skills learned in the individual lesson and helps develop other skills such as ensemble playing and cooperation. Group class is also a great motivator and lots of fun!
Music Mind Games
Music Mind Games are held on Thursday afternoons and organized by age groups. Music Mind Games is a curriculum of over 300 games teaching music reading, theory, sight-singing, and much more; all with games that children of all ages love to play!
Recitals
Recitals are held twice each semester, with a rehearsal for each. There are four rehearsals and four Formal Recitals each year. We'll also perform as a group in the community.
Fiddle
Fiddle is an elective open to students that have completed Minuet 1 (Book 1). We will learn tunes by ear and explore various fiddle styles. Fiddle will take place twice a month on Thursdays.
Below is my adult fiddle class with Liz Carroll! It was a fun field trip!
